The new Legacy Insights tracker report has identified that 121 charities that secured no legacy income in 2021, received a combined €11.15m in 2022, while 115 organisations increased their legacy income in 2022. Overall there was a significant (and unexpected) drop in legacy income for charities in Ireland – from €110m in 2021 to €85m in 2021. 19 of the 20 organisations with the highest legacy incomes in 2021 saw a drop in 2022, accounting for much of the year’s decline. Campaign Solutions believes that external, structural issues have to be a factor and expects a strong rebound in 2023 figures.
